Who we are

Our website address is: http://estudiarenholanda.es.

This website occasionally asks you to share your personal information. This can be in the form of cookies (see below) or through requests for information. We only collect that information from you that is necessary to communicate with you. Depending on the nature of your request we may need the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • Your academic background (if you require particular advice)
  • Your areas of interest

We will only contact you by email in the first instance although subsequent follow-up may be in the form of telephone calls, Skype or similar.  The grounds on which we will contact you in terms of GDPR regulations are consent (delivery of email newsletters and course information requests) or performance of a contract (applications to universities).

If you sign up to our newsletters you can expect to hear from A Star Future Ltd (owner of astarfuture.co.uk, studyinholland.co.uk, studyincroatia.eu, and estudiarenholanda.es) approximately once a month. If you wish to discontinue your subscription, you will always be able to do this directly from any email newsletter we send you or by contacting us directly.

The only reason why A Star Future Ltd will ever contact you is to provide information about international higher education opportunities at universities outside the United Kingdom. As most students contact us initially around 12-18 months before they decide where to go to university, we will cleanse our entire database every two years. There is no reason why you will be contacted by us for longer than this unless you expressly request renewed contact.

You have the right to request access to any data that we hold on you. Please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with details of the data we possess.

Because of the nature of our work, we occasionally forward your contact details to third parties to provide you with further information about specific higher education opportunities. These organisations are either universities or their trusted partners. Your data will only be forwarded if you opt in to allow this in our online forms or in our request information form circulated at school presentations and fairs. All of our partners are obligated to observe GDPR regulations and they agree not to use data other than for the very narrow reason why it has been collected. We maintain records of when and to whom your information has been forwarded and you can check this at any time. Please be assured that the distribution of your contact details to third parties will never happen without your consent.

For some users of the website, we may require access to a greater amount of personal information. If you are using A Star Future Ltd to process an application to a particular university we may also hold information on your academic record, your passport and other information required to apply to a university abroad. In the event that you complete the enrolment process through A Star Future Ltd, we will retain your personal data until the end of your first academic year. In the event that you do not go through with an application, A Star Future Ltd will delete all information from its records within two months of your decision not to proceed.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
